Asia Tour 2026 - Day 15/25 - 24th August - Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan - City 10/15 - Country 7/9
We hadn't ordered breakfast when booking, that was extra. It wasn't a buffet but actually made to order breakfast which I prefer! I ordered shakshuka and Stanislav order fried eggs and porridge.
We wrote our postcards then went for a long walk through the city, stopping at Paul for coffee. We walked to the Ak Emmir market, small compared to what we already had seen, but it sold fruits, cheese, nuts, alcohol and even French style bread.
The next challenge was to find the post-office and I even got to speak Farsi with two Iranian men. Eventually a young local guy directed us to the post-office which was close to a retired MIG21 plane which was erected as a monument.
Tired from walking we walked to the café from the previous night where we had a salad, this time indoors instead of outside. I ordered a beer and after we returned to the hotel and rested for a bit.
As it was raining we ordered food at the hotel restaurant, again a spicy pizza. I drank some red wines, not local, and we watched the rain outside.
