Up bright and early at around 05:00, I had downloaded the taxi app "Bolt" and ordered us a cab to the railway station. The entire fare was about 3 euros. There was just a single platform at the station, and we had 90 minutes to go.

A stray dog was being overly friendly while Stanislav was off buying food nearby. I went off to buy coffee, and when I returned, boarding had already started. They actually checked our passports before getting on.

We departed at 08:00, sitting behind two Russian speakers who pulled down the blinds, blocking the view—something I never could understand. The 5-hour journey took us past bright green mountains, then dry, brown, desert-like mountains with ancient cave dwellings carved out.

Once we arrived in Tbilisi, we found a sleeping taxi driver whom I startled. He didn't know the way to the hotel and had to ask lots of people on the way. He circled a few times before setting us down and didn't want to be paid, but I gave him 20 laris. I think speaking the language helped a lot.

After checking into the hotel, we discovered that the room was not ready and had to be assigned another one.

We walked to the supermarket afterward to get supplies, then across the road to a restaurant. I had a laz khachapuri, chacha, and wine, and Stanislav had salad and lobio (bean stew).

We went for a walk, recognizing the city from before, but discovering the gay area which was new to us. I returned to have a snooze for a while and then explored the gay scene in
Tbilisi bars Mozaik and Mimosa and made new friends.
