We had lovely poached eggs for breakfast with avocado and toast. The smell of fresh coffee wafted through the house.

Today's plan was to do a walking tour of Chester. It was the afternoon as we walked back towards the city centre. Just as we came to the ancient city entrance, Neil's parents called as they were on their way by bus and were almost there.

We all walked the perimeter of the city on top of the old Roman walls, passing the oldest horse racing circuit in the world, dating back to the 1500s. We also passed the castle, which dates back to 1070, but it looked mildly disappointing.

We left the walls behind, passing the old Roman baths and some ruins dating from the year 80. This city is saturated in history.

As the light was starting to fade, I was very keen on getting pictures of the old typical wooden-framed houses, which I just about managed.

As the sun was done for the day, we went off to a food hall where we had food and wine together before Neil's parents had to leave.

For food, we moved towards the back of the food hall where it was warmer. I ordered us some more drinks, and Sara took care of the food. I had excellent gnocchi cacio e pepe.

We moved on to a really nice wine bar called "Paysan" where we all had excellent wine and even got to speak some Irish. Our final stop was yet another wine bar called "Veeno" where we ordered a bottle of wine and a nice cheese and meats board before heading back for the taxi.
