We all woke up very late. We had some gorgeous fancy cheese toasties with Brie, and a taxi was ordered to whisk us off to Chester railway station. Sara had pre-ordered rail tickets to Manchester.

The train was a local Welsh train. We alighted at Manchester Piccadilly and went for a wander through a small Christmas market and onwards to a food hall.

I skipped the drink as I was not feeling great and ordered a large plate of nachos. Sara and Neil ordered some Thai food, which they ate with chopsticks. After food, we stopped by a bar where I ordered a Heineken 0.0, and we progressed to the next bar where I braved a real beer. Even though it was 3.5%, I found it hard to finish. Sara supplied me with Bloody Marys after that.

We said goodbye to the people at the next table who were from Belfast, and they had a friendly golden retriever who also wanted to say goodbye.

Once in the comedy club, I switched to vodka and cranberry juice. The MC was very funny, but the rest of the performers were not so inspiring. We had planned to get the train home, but as there was an Irish pub called Nancy Spain's right next to the club, we couldn't resist it. I switched to Murphy's stout as the live music played in the background. We struck up a conversation with some interesting people, like a Native American girl and a German guy, Tom, who was visiting England for the first time from Dresden. At around 02:00, we returned to Chester by Uber.
