Wonderful Mediterranean style omelette

We woke uo at 08:30 or so. Having showered we decided to have breakfast in "Crazy Horse" the Irish bar which was next door to us. First things first, it was more than 24 hours since I had had any coffee at all, so first coffee! I ordered a Mediterranean omelette and some spinach. Stanislav ordered a veggie omelette but some he received one with ham on it. The server was very apologetic. We ordered "domačka kafa" and some more coffee after that!

When we were finally ready to explore the city it suddenly got hot. We circled the fortress from the outside watching serval old Jugo cars whizz by. Quite a few low flying planes pass overhead.

Ćela Kula

There was a small digital historical museum which we visited. We continued onwards towards the "ćela kula" which means "skull tower", we entered a building to see exactly that a large tower studded with lots of human skulls. This was the revenge by the Turks to oppress an uprising by the local community. The bodies were beheaded and skinned before cementing them to the tower.

Food!!

Enough of that! We returned to the city, Stanislav took an ice cream and we went for a wander. Eventually we found a posh looking restaurant. I got Salmon and Stanislav got soup with pogača. I had ordered a vino but instead I received a pivo (beer). It was a good pivo!

We finished up before having a quick wander, some more beers and then bed. All the parties then started, music from different parties were trying to compete creating a cacophony, all the time there was manic laughter and Slavic whistles giving this slightly other world experience like being in a Fellini film! We had to be up at 03:30!
