Day 21 - Tirana to Shkodër - 22 September 2019
#Tiranë #Shkodër #Albania #Earthquake #Shqipëri

PUKE
We woke more tired than usual due to broken sleep due to the many earthquakes. My ribs were also hurting. We had breakfast, and the whole time could feel minor movement of the ground underneath. Onwards to the bus station, in the bus station we saw bus with destination "puke". I was also sweating a lot. As we left Tirana, we saw one collapsed building.

View from our room
We approached the mountains towards the border with Montenegro. Finally we reached Shkodër. When we exited we heard, "taxi! taxi! taxi!" "where you from, taxi?". We politely declined and used Google to find the apartment. We arrived at the designated point but could not see the hostel. In the end I called the hostel and some young guy came out and picked us up at a statue of Mother Theresa. The hostel was nice and homely, but we decided to go straight to the castle by taxi!

Spectacular Views
This was quite something! WE had a 360° view of the lakes and the mountains. WE stayed for a good while taking photos. The sun set and we ordered a taxi on exiting. The same taxi driver returned. We asked to be set off at Cash Blanca restaurant. This was an excellent suggestion by the hostel!

Excellent Albanian food and drink
We ordered a raki, we had two huge glasses! We then ordered a vegetable soup and some roasted potatoes with red pepper ad feta cheese, amazing! Stanislav had the same but I also ordered a pizza too. I also had some friend aubergine and a nice big glass of red wine from Kosovo! I was very satisfied indeed!

Mixing with the locals
After the meal we went for a wander, I bought a bottle of red wine from Kosovo. We went back to the hostel and we chit-chatted to the the guys and had some wine. After writing some postcards we retired to bed, but the cockerels and dogs woke us up!
In a word: #Malet
