Day 26 - Belgrade to Lukavac - 27 September 2019

The bus journey

We woke up again extremely early, no time for breakfast at all. We walked down the hill and got a taxi. In the station we were faced with a shortage of money and had to quickly exchange some euros for dinars. Then we finally had some coffee and a bit of food. We went through to the bus area, Stanislav started feeding the pigeons. The sparrows were actually very aggressive. I watched the pigeons gorging themselves on so much bread that they actually almost choked. When the bus arrived, I paid 120 dinars for the bags. I was sleeping on and off on the way to the border. We spent a lot of time at the Serbian side of the border. One strange woman got off and to do some private business. A female patrol officer hauled two beautiful women off the bus, we waited ages. At the Bosnian side things were much quicker. Izlaz - Ulaz across the p

border.

Bijeljina station

We passed a large monastery in Bijeljina where Sofia used to live. A few hours later we reached Tuzla. The driver was very irrupted by the traffic in Tuzla. I didn't really mind because I was able to recognise some familiar places. At the bus station there were a lot of refugees from asia. There was an interesting conversation on "immigrants and criminality". Finally we got to the Petrak house in Lukavac. The taxi driver told us the house was a palace.

Martha and Zora were standing on the Veranda wating for us. We got inside and and there was a soup with pepper and meat! Martha forgot that I was a vegetarian but Zora decided I should eat anyways. Stanislav ate it in the end.

In Zora's place

I had Martha's gorgeous home made bread with fried eggs and a home pickled pepper. After coffee and a long discussion we headed to J7B and tried to sort out a problem we had with Ryanair. Zora joined us and we continued chatting in her place and we had fruit juice and fruity rakija. We tried to take a group picture too!

Tuzlaski pilsner

We had a final drink in the Irish pub before going home to bed where Bucko the cat jumped into bed and bit me!

In a word: #Petrak
