We had already pre-booked a ticket from Bray to Wexford. John and Susan dropped us off at Bray station, and we found a nice double seat. I could take pictures along the way. The train passed through Greystones, Rathcoole, Wicklow, Rathdrum, Arklow, Gorey, Enniscorthy, and the final stop for us, Wexford. Actually, the stations from Bray to Arklow all held nice memories for me, from the '70s in Bray and, of course, Uncle John, my first relationship, the fishing trips with Dad to Greystones in the '70s, and later college parties, visiting college friends in Wicklow, my student job in Rathdrum, and birthday parties in Arklow with my dad. I guess Wicklow is in my heart forever!

Once in Wexford, we had a quick exploration, wrote some postcards, and hopped on the local bus to Johnstown Castle. The castle itself, while spectacular, is a little bit fake, but it does actually have a proper castle from 1169 on its grounds. We first explored the agricultural museum and famine museum. The famine museum was a bit upsetting.

It was a perfect day for exploring the grounds with two fake lakes, lots of moaning peacocks, and tasty ice cream.

We had a nice chat with two Wexford ladies who had moved to the UK, and we made our way back to the town. The owner of the rooms, Lisa, was very friendly and let us into our rooms. We went to Dunnes and again got a picnic of soda bread and Irish cheese and rested before exploring the town in the evening and grabbing a quick drink. It was an early night for us both!
