Mullingar
Mullingar

Late morning, we got up and had breakfast and hung around until the mid-afternoon. At this stage, we decided to go to Mullingar. As the girls had vouchers, we decided to do some shopping too.

Walking in Mullingar

After 30 minutes of driving, we arrived at Mullingar Shopping Centre. Joanie was not feeling well, so Feargal ventured off to find a pharmacy and came back with Calpol. We waited in Costa, and Barbara bought two cappuccinos and two frappés. After the coffees, we walked into the town centre, and I took a few pictures. I saw an Eason's (bookshop) and decided to browse a bit, as did the two girls who are avid readers.

Vegan Shoes in Mullingar

Right beside Eason's was a clothing shop where they all spent a lot of time. There was even a pair of vegan shoes for sale too, next to some very hideous modern runners. As they were taking a lot of time, I decided to pop back into Eason's and bought two small cookbooks.

Waiting for food in Danny Byrne's

As it was late, I decided to treat them all to a meal in a pub called Danny Byrne's just opposite Eason's. I had fish and chips, and Feargal had a cheeseburger, Barbara had quesadillas, and the girls had pizza.

Joanie and Holly

I ordered Tullamore Dew whiskey to start, and then switched to Rockshore lager for the rest of the meal. The fish and chips were not as nice as the Italian-Irish chips in Longwood.

Playing monopoly in Longwood

After the drive to Longwood, Feargal had to get ready for a gig, and the rest of us played Monopoly. It was great to play it again after so many years.

In a word #monopoly
