Breafast was at 09:00. We had to fill in a form which was in English, ticking off your selection which would then be delivered to your table. Two Russians complained, as they wanted a form written in Russian! I ordered an omelette with vegetables with coffee, not the very best I had. We attempted to have better coffee at l'Avenue, but it was not yet open. We then went to the postoffice where Stanislav delivered his cards.

Stalin's old house
On our way to the Stalin Museum an old guy was trying to to sell us an excursion. I had thought I had fobbed him off. The Stalin museum had countless pictures of him from his youth all the way up to his death, along with several other pictures of him with various politicians for example, Roosevelt and Churchill.

We exited the museum and negotiated a taxi fro 250 lari for Telavi. All of a sudden these two blokes, one of which was the one selling the excursion coming running up towards us from the park as we were entering a café to get coffee. Inside the café we struck a deal for Telavi, and also for the ruins of Uplistsikhe and the old fortress in Gori.

Uplistsikhe ruins
After coffee we joined our driver Temo and in my best Georgian I explained that I liked wine, when he pulled over and gave me a bottle of home made white wine. We went up to the ruins of Uplistsikhe and took a wander around and did some wine tasting where I also undertsood the Russian explanation.

Gori castle/fortress
We then went to the castle in Gori, when on returning to the hotel, he sold me a rather large bottle of home made red wine. I drank half of it in the hotel room, and just as Stanislav was throwing it away I heard a kick on the hotel door. It was Temo the driver! He wanted to reconfirm the travel plans.

Lobiani (bean) khachapuri
Afterwards we headed up to l'Avenue where I had a wine and a bean khachapuri. I had another wine and a beer before heading up to the hotel and chatting to the waitress Keti and having even more wine and some chacha.

This cake was Stanislav's, looks nice!
