ბათუმი - Friday 19th August

Today we wanted to find postcards, visit the old city and arrange transport to Gori, our next destination. On our way down the boulevard we bought coffee from a vendor, a little later we saw a place that looked like a Greek temple and was aptly called "Acropolis". I had a cappuccino and a cheese omelette. The waiter was amused at the fact that I could speak his language.

Porridge and bread for breakfast

After food we finally found the old city and got speaking to a friendly guy with bleached hair. A short walk and we found the station which was very chaotic, we figured that to get to Gori we would have to take the bus to Tbilisi and get out on the highway.

Gonio fortress

From the station we went to Gonio, a fortress about 6 km from the Turkish border. We made deal of 40 lari to go to the fortress, wait for 10-15 minutes, then return to the hotel.

At the hotel we struck a deal with the driver, Giorgi to bring us to Gori for 330 Lari. Later that night we picked up some drinks and snacks and watched the thunderstorm.

In a word #thunderstorm
