1990

1990 the year after the Berlin wall came down and one by one the old communist countries started their journey of independence. I was just preparing for my final exams in Chemistry. I had mentioned the idea of an interrail trip to some college friends and we all met in the bar next to some half eaten ham sandwiches and I unfolded a large map of Europe on the table accidentally spilling some beer in the Mediterranean sea. Pints of lager in hand everyone enthusiastically pointed to various European destinations on the map, "Amsterdam" "Paris","Budapest". We made our plans.

Lucozade

I spent the summer working in Beecham of Ireland on the lucozae line. If you didn't know lucozade is a glucose based soft drink. I graduated with a first class hours degree, we partied on the 25th of July and the next day I was back in work again doing a 10 hour shift stacking pallets. We never managed to organise our trip. I went to London for two weeks and kissed a man having my first gay experience which I wanted to forget.
