Eggs made with love
Eggs made with love

I was up for breakfast at 07:30. and there was a beautiful spread of ajvar, Balkan white cheese, Dutch Cheese, blue cheese, olives, hard boiled eggs and all. The lady greeted me in Bosnian and offered to prepare fried eggs "pola živa" or half alive (runny) so I went with it. A few minutes later she emerged with two perfectly fried eggs sprinkled with parsley. As part of breakfast I had fake orange juice "cedevita" and coffee and finished off mixing the white cheese and ajvar - yum.

I packed my bag and checked out after breakfast and walked to the Petrak house. I hadn't even arrived and the door opened for me, I was literally met with open arms by both Stanislav and Zora.

Zora had slowed down considerably since her health scare. I was given a large rakija and a huge cup of coffee Bosnian style, not filtered.

After coffee me and Stanislav went to the city to buy some gifts, I got a basket with tea, Turkish tea cups and some snacks and date snacks for ado. All the time I chatted with people on the street and in the shops.

We returned home with the gifts and me and Zora strolled to her apartment where she showed me lots of things and even talked about her accident, showing me her medical files too. She put on some nice shoes, she was all dressed up for the church as it was the feast of St. Anthony. Musicians were on the ready and they had food and drink as well as people dressed in the traditional clothing.

The mass was around 90 minutes in so I said goodbye and went to see Ado the Irish pub. Only minutes afterwards I heard that distinct Balkan music keyboard coming from the church. I stayed for a while and the beers kept coming, I had a Spanish beer as the local stuff was out of stock.

Zora eventually came and joined us for a coffee. In the end I left without having paid a penny and gave Ado a hug.

I went to the bus station and bought my bus ticket for Tuzla, I had enough time for a Tuzlansko in the Tito bar.
