Family meeting in Barbara's

I was okay in the morning, as the sheer volume of beer prevented me from drinking too much. Robbie came in with some lovely savory pastries, one with spinach and feta, the other one with veggies. The fresh juice and coffee went down very well too!

Erica eventually arose, and in the afternoon, we drove to Longwood. That same afternoon, I prepared some yeast bread, cheese scones, and also Irish soda bread. I was so happy to be able to share the joys of baking with Holly and Joanie, who I think were also very pleased with the results. Dinner was a veggie lasagna along with baked chips and garlic bread.

We played Monopoly again, and this time I won! Well, technically we still needed a few moves before Barbara was completely bankrupt, but we abandoned the game and prepared for the countdown with a bottle of prosecco that I had bought that day. We watched RTÉ and popped open the prosecco just as 2025 was rung in and joined the neighbors out on the street in the rain and fireworks.
