Nicosia to Adana - Day 23 - Friday 19th September 2025 - Balkan-Georgia Trip - Day 23/34 - City 17/22 - country 9/11

Kerrygold in Nicosia Airport After waking up and packing, we made our way to the bus station. Our bus was to leave at 10:45, so we had lots of time, and Stanislav picked up some water and supplies at the nearby supermarket. We were way too early at the airport and couldn't check in, so we grabbed a coffee until the 3-hour check-in time. The airport was by no means crowded, so check-in and security were very fast. In the duty-free, Stanislav bought me a bottle of Saperavi and

Close to the supermarket Once back in Nicosia, we bought food at the supermarket next to the bus station and walked back to our place. Ines again made lovely salads. The ingredients in Cyprus are fresh and full of flavour. A palm tree in the setting sun After food, I headed out to "Hoi Polloi" again and had some beers. This time, I could hear Greek being spoken at two adjacent tables. Fun at "Imagine" I moved on to another bar on the recommendation of my Dutch friend, "Imagin

Beautiful Mosque just outside Nicosia Today, the mission was to go to Girne, a town on the north coast of Cyprus. We made our way to the bus station, bought tickets, and waited for the bus. When it arrived, the small bus, not quite a minibus, looked like it had seen better days. Even the curtains inside were all ripped. It brought back memories of African road trips in the '90s. Similar to my road trips back then, we were the only non-locals on the bus, which hummed away with

Exploring North Nicosia We woke up and showered, then walked into the city. The mission, as usual, was to find postcards. We did find a post office, and they directed us to a bookshop where we picked up postcards. As we already had stamps, we just needed to write them. North Nicosia Another mission was to find adapters as we completely overlooked the fact that Cyprus actually uses UK-style sockets. Luckily, I had power banks so that I could keep both of our phones charged. Ch

Istanbul to Nicosia - Day 20 - Tuesday 16th September 2025 - Balkan-Georgia Trip - Day 20/34 - City 15/21 - country 10/11

Breakfast We woke up in our tiny hotel room, packed, showered, and then went back to the luxurious Agatha Christie hotel, but unfortunately, the prices were also luxurious for just a buffet. No matter how good the food claims to be, a buffet ruins it for me. We did find a nearby place which was small and cozy, and we had a nice breakfast which always includes tea, but ordered coffee too as I need coffee in the morning. Shopping at the airport We picked up our bags at the hote
