We woke up and showered, then walked into the city. The mission, as usual, was to find postcards. We did find a post office, and they directed us to a bookshop where we picked up postcards. As we already had stamps, we just needed to write them.

Another mission was to find adapters as we completely overlooked the fact that Cyprus actually uses UK-style sockets. Luckily, I had power banks so that I could keep both of our phones charged.

That also sorted itself out. Having spent a small fortune on adapters and chargers, we continued our walk and suddenly we were at the Greek border. It was a bit of a strange situation, as the EU doesn't recognize Northern Cyprus but still has a border control. I quickly put away my camera and walked through.

Once on the Greek side, we immediately noticed that it appeared much more prosperous, if not a bit fake. There was no problem finding postcards on this side, so, armed with stamps and postcards from both sides of the border, we went for a walk in the heat, taking pictures as we went.

We stopped at a café, and I ordered a local wine in my best Greek, and we wrote our postcards.

It was a nice day, and we had another drink before posting our postcards. Just before the border, I bought two new suitcases, a large one and a medium-sized one, and walked back across the checkpoint.

Once back on the Turkish side, Stanislav posted the cards, and I found a bar where I ordered an Efes beer, waiting for his return.

We walked on towards a supermarket which was marked as being close to the bus station. It was a good size, and I stocked up on nice fresh salad stuff and wine from Turkey. It also had Cadbury's chocolate!

As we had a nice large communal kitchen, we prepared a lovely salad washed down with excellent red wine.

I rested for a while, then headed out to a bar called "Hoi Polloi" and befriended a Dutch guy. As the night went on, we spoke about many things, and as the night proceeded, I spoke to some Iranians and Italians in their own language!
