Asia Tour 2026 - Day 6/25 - 15th August - Tashkent, Uzbekistan - City 5/15 - Country 4/9

Today was laundry day, I put on a load of washing and we went looking for a post office. I picked up some very communist looking cards and sent them to some friends and family.
On our way back to rescue my laundry at our accommodation, we stopped for coffee at a Turkish place, I asked for coffee with milk, so they put sugar in too!
When we arrived back at the apartment and hung up the clothes, we went to "Magic City" which accidentally took us to the parliament buildings, sorry no photo as I was afraid to take a pic, but it was extremely impressive.
The "Magic City" was of course heavily guarded as were the metro stations, kind of almost airport style. Once inside the complex, it was complete with a fake Tower Bridge of London, fake Amsterdam, fake Germany and Fake France! We eventually stopped at a restaurant that served all kinds of international foods like from Georgia, Turkey and of course Uzbekistan. We both ordered ezo soup, but I preferred my own home made ezo soup!
We walked to metro station "Ozbekistan" and after arriving home I picked up beer and Uzbek vodka from the beer shop. I prepared a lovely salad again from the ingredients we had bought the previous day.
