After such a night, it was hard to get up. Eventually, when I did, I decided to visit the 80s museum, being a teenager in the 80s and a fan of Yugonostalgia. I was really looking forward to it, but when I arrived, it was closed due to filming. Disappointed, I walked for a bit and stumbled upon a wine bar, so I had to stop and ordered a Graševina, but I have actually had much better.

As the hangover museum "Muzej Mamurluka" was close, I decided that might be a good idea. It was certainly a bizarre experience. When you enter, you choose an alcoholic drink of your choice and make your way around various artifacts that were donated to the museum, such as traffic cones and much worse. It all seemed like a good idea at the time until the hangover kicks in and the memories come back to shame you. These anecdotes and the "proof" are all to be found here. At the end of the visit, you get a free rakija.

I was still in museum mode, so I popped into the nearby '80s rock and roll museum. It was a small, disappointing affair, and much worse, they actually nailed vinyl records to the walls. No, I can't support this.

I remembered a church with a colorful roof, so I looked it up online and it was only a couple of hundred meters away. The church, St. Mark's, was all cordoned off for renovations, probably due to earthquake damage. The main cathedral had even more scaffolding, also because of the earthquake.

Signs of the 2020 earthquake were everywhere, with huge fissures in buildings and partially collapsed façades.

I had arranged to meet Zvonimir at Bar Abisinija, and it was actually just a 3-minute walk away from St. Mark's. Being tired and hot, I was in the mood for a cold beer. I arrived early and tried the local craft beer.

Two beers in and Zvonimir arrived. I hadn't seen him in 33 years, since our student days in Padova, when he was studying medicine. He went on to be a film director, and I am honestly in awe of his bravery and a bit jealous too.

After a few beers and some reminiscing, I walked back down towards the apartment, making a pit stop at another craft beer place. I literally stayed for one and decided to call it a day. Once back at the rental apartment, I made the final decision not to go out and had an early night as I had to get up early the next day.
